چکیده

This research presents an optimization of a power generation system incorporating ground-cooled condenser. It focuses on the mitigation adverse effects critical parameters such as low mass flow rates and large ground loops. includes investigation different configurations (basic regenerative cycles) working fluids to ascertain their performance system. Three refrigerants, R123, R124 R245fa, were compared in terms fluid's performance. The purpose is increase net output whilst reducing capital cost installation. At inlet expander pressure 3 MPa, condensation temperature was decreased from 25 °C 15 enhancements 7.35%, 12.13% 8.77% for respectively case basic organic Rankine cycle. However, highest recorded R123 both under investigated conditions. Based calculations heat rejection, cycle highly recommended since it provides significant without considerably changing amount rejected ground.

Selection of the optimum prime mover and the working fluid in a regenerative organic rankine cycle

A regenerative organic Rankine cycle (RORC) is modeled and optimized for the use of waste heat recovery from a prime mover (PM). Three PMs including, a diesel engine, a gas engine, and a microturbine are selected in this study. Four refrigerants including isobutane, R123, R134a, and R245fa are selected. The nominal capacity of the PM, PM operating partial load, turbine inlet pressure, condenser...

Analysis of Zeotropic Mixture in a Geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle Power Plant with an Air-cooled Condenser

The purpose of this research is to investigate a zeotropic working fluid mixture in terms of its performance in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) and the heat transfer characteristics in an air-cooled condenser (ACC). The motivation of this study is that it is well known that the use of a mixture improves the efficiency of an ORC system. However, the behaviour of the mixture in the condensers is n...

Effect of Working-fluid Mixtures on Organic Rankine Cycle System Performance: Heat Transfer and Cost Analysis

A thermodynamic limitation of single-component working fluids in organic Rankine cycles (ORCs) is the large exergy destruction (and, consequently, useful power loss) associated with evaporation and condensation. Due to their non-isothermal phasechange behaviour, non-azeotropic working-fluid mixtures have shown reduced exergy losses, leading to improved cycle efficiencies and power outputs. Thes...

Comparative investigation of working fluids for an organic Rankine cycle with geothermal water

In this paper, the thermodynamic investigation on the use of geothermal water (130 ◦C as maximum) for power generation through a basic Rankine has been presented together with obtained main results. Six typical organic working fluids (i.e., R245fa, R141b, R290, R600, R152a, and 134a) were studied with modifying the input pressure and temperature to the turbine. The results show that there are n...

Numerical Analysis of an Organic Rankine Cycle with Adjustable Working Fluid Composition, a Volumetric Expander and a Recuperator

Conventional Organic Rankine Cycles (ORCs) using ambient air as their coolant cannot fully utilize the greater temperature differential available to them during the colder months. However, changing the working fluid composition so its boiling temperature matches the ambient temperature as it changes has been shown to have potential to increase year-round electricity generation. Previous researc...
